I love Asthanga Yoga. This practice has changed my life and I love to share its benefits with others. This system of yoga is focused on breath movement and has many healing qualities. My teaching is based on the therapeutic benefits of the practice. Each pose (asana) has a physical benefit that is more that just stretching your muscles. While you get that too, the other benefits are just as important. The name Ashtanga Yoga means “8 limbs” in Sanskrit and is based on traditional yoga principles. Ashtanga Yoga is taught in two complementary formats, Mysore style or Led classes so I offer both. Having practiced Ashtanga for over 25 years, and teaching for over 10 years, I come to the mat with the experience that I have learned through a life-long yoga study.
Also for Fall 2022, I am offering a new class, Restorative Yoga with RAPID* for lower body pain.
As some of you know, I have been incorporating the Rapid NeuroFascial Reset Therapy that I have been studying into mysore sessions and I have been trying it out with restorative yoga classes. The results have been amazing with many people with chronic pain leaving class with no pain. It seems to work even better when combined with restorative yoga. So if you have lower body pain, this class is for you! Space is limited to five practitioners, so please email me to sign up for a four week session starting on September 11th (price $80).
*RAPID NeuroFascial Reset, is a neurologically based, active, therapeutic technique that addresses the central nervous systems role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body. RAPID is an evidence-based manual therapy technique that can quickly and effectively eliminate pain. I incorporate it with yoga therapy techniques for best results
I am so excited that we have had so much interest in Greg’s workshop. It is sold out but since there is so much interest, we have decided to hold the Saturday full workshop day at a larger location to allow for more yogis to take part. If you ware interested in joining for the full day on Saturday, the price will be $190. (Friday and Sunday classes will held at North End Yoga space on Strawberry Hill).
